Exeter is riding high after a quadruple winning streak which has seen three of the Club’s team’s goal differences increase significantly over the past week. The BWWPL Junior Team started off with an emphatic win against local rivals Devonport 32-9. The team then travelled to Aberdare in the Welsh Valleys to take on new team Cym Draig, and an 8-0 first quarter thrashing ended up 32-2. Some of the players in that match then returned to Exeter on the same day to play for the Senior II Team that dispatched Bradford on Avon 23-4, with Goal Keeper Will Purchall scoring not one but two goals from his own goal line!
The First Team then had a tough home fixture against the Welsh Wanderers on Tuesday night, but fielded a full complement of senior and experienced players who were eager to depart from the Exeter tradition of getting a few goals ahead and then easing off the pressure. On the night a 5-1 end to the first quarter was followed by the same pace throughout the match, with a pleasing end result 20-4 rounding off an excellent few days for the Club.
