DL Exeter Seniors 16 Devonport 11

Turning up with 8 players for a match in a double deep end pool is not the most relaxing way to spend your Sunday evening… This reporter would like to say that a fit and strong Exeter side handled the task with ease, but in truth pacing things was the order of the day.
The game was tight for 3 quarters with no more than a goal between either side – however Exeter kept good shape and discipline for the majority of the game. In the final quarter this told with a 6-2 scoreline and a reasonably comfortable last 2 minutes. The fact that Exeter only conceded 3 majors was testament to a drop defence that functioned well and goals were spread throughout the team. Top scorers were Andy Margetts and Matt Potter with 5 goals each.
A win hard earned and at least 8 players (including Luke Bray) will not be taking up the invite to do 200 press ups this Tuesday…
