Trial for Devon County ASA Inter-County Water Polo Championships

Invitation to Trial to Represent Devon County ASA at the Inter-County Water Polo Championships

Players in the following age groups are invited to attend trials to represent Devon in the forthcoming South West Inter-County Championships to be held on the 24th and 25th November 2018 at Millfield School in Somerset. At present we do not know which age groups may be required to attend on which day, and so players are asked to keep both days free at present. In order to attend the trials, players need to:

(a)   Be available to play on the above dates;

(b)   Be a registered member of a Devon based Water Polo Club;

(c)   Register their attendance at the Trials by their parent or guardian emailing me at this address not later than 12 noon on Monday 10th September 2018 and providing full name, date of birth and parent / guardian contact details; and

(d)   Pay £5 (to be paid at the trial and in cash) to cover the costs associated with the Trial.

The Trials will be held at the Pyramids Leisure Centre (Exeter, EL1 2 LA) on Sunday 16th September.

1800-1915         12&U (Mixed sex)          Players born in 2006-2008

1900-2015         14&U (Mixed sex)          Players born in 2004 and 2005

2000-2130         16&U Male                    Players born in 2002 and 2003

Assessment of players will take place in accordance with the established procedures used within the County. If a player cannot attend the trial, then an email explaining the reasons for the player not being able to attend should be sent to me, and an assessment as to selection may be undertaken and may include consultation with any other coach within the County. Please note that the County reserves its position to select players that can attend the trial in preference to players who are not able to attend the trial – but to be applied at the discretion of the selectors.

South West Boys Head Coach, John Spicer, would like to invite all players from year group  2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006s to the South West Academy Training and Trial session at Sandford Park Lido. PLEASE NOTE CHANGE FROM GL1.

We are please to announce an additional End of Year social event has  been negotiated  with CSWPC, and you are invited to join in with the CSWPC Summer BBQ, being held later that evening again at the Lido Starting time start time of1930hrs.

Player wishing to attend should let me know soonest so food can be booked. There will be a nominal fee for SW Players of £3.50 for each person wishing to attend, this will cover their entry to the event and food. Players/Parents  will be able to swim and take part in all water play that will be done on the night. It is expected that the event will finish around 2200hrs

Success for Exeter girls

Well done to Isabel Morgan, Ellie Harris and Lily-May Girvin for being selected for the u16 South West girls team for a tournament in July, Lily-May will captain the team. She also helped Newton Abbot win the u17 National Age Group title with Milly Raymond and Maddie Crowe in Manchester this weekend.
