Great start to 2016 with Exeter Under 19s winning the Devon Knock Out Cup v Newton Abbot in a tense final that saw Exeter reduced to three outfield players for the final three minutes, followed by Exeters Seniors becoming league and cup champions by beating Newton Abbot in the Senior Men’s Final 22-9. Exeter are continuing with their unbeaten record in the second division of the Bristol and West league with wins over Frome and Cheltenham. The younger members of the side are showing increasing maturity with the steadying influence of the experienced older players.
Matt Potter, Sam Wordley, Sam Evans, Jack Cutting and Cody Plumridge are putting in energetic performances and blending well with the more senior members. The game against the second team of national champions Cheltenham was a particularly controlled defensive display ending with a convincing 17-7 win.
The senior match against Swindon has been cancelled so it is training as normal on Tuesday 8th July. The game has been rescheduled for Sunday 20th July at 8.30pm.
There is also a provisional game arranged for the Exeter ladies team to play the Welsh on the 20th before at 7.30pm.
The ladies and Bristol and West second team games are cancelled on Friday 13th. There will be training for the ladies at 6.30 and seniors at 7.30 as normal.
